Q: How quickly can I receive my order?
A: We despatch orders within 3 working days, but usually faster than that. UK orders are sent by Royal Mail and are delivered by the postman.
Q: What is the UK post and packing charge?
A: Free.
Q: Does the packet fit through a normal letterbox?
A: The packet is about one inch (25mm) thick and wider than A4 so does not fit many letterboxes.
Q: I don’t live in the UK. How can I get a copy of your book?
A: Please send us an email or fax with your address details and we will quote you the post and packing charge. You can then phone or fax us with your card details. Please do not send us your card details by email as this is not secure.
Q: Which sports cars do you cover in this book?
A: We cover over 150 sports cars, from many famous British marques. Click on “Book Details” on the left to go to a page where you can download the book’s Index to see just what we cover.
Q: What do you define as a “sports car”?
A: The Cassell Concise English Dictionary defines a sports car as a “low, usually two-seater, car built for high speed performance”. This is a good starting point, but the author has tried to cast the net wider to include as many models as sensibly possible.
Q: What do you mean by a “classic car”?
A: In terms of what constitutes a “classic car”, the author has simply taken the usually accepted 25-year figure as the basis for inclusion, the relevant date being when a model was launched. Hence cars launched prior to 1982 are included.
Q: The book focuses mainly on sports cars from the “major manufacturers”, but what do you mean by a “major manufacturer”?
A: There is no formal definition but the author has included manufacturers that have built at least one model which had sales of more than 500 vehicles (there are some exceptions to this rule for completeness).
Q: Are there any exclusions from this book?
A: Certainly, exclusions include prototypes, replicas, sports-racers, kit cars, beach buggies and tuned versions of standard saloon cars, but the exclusion list is not set in stone and again for completeness the author has included a few models that breach these “rules”.
Q: Is the book only available in hardback?
A: Yes.
